Family, friends and residents in Silverdale Parish were shocked to learn that Councillor Mrs Eileen Braithwaite had died on Monday 23 May, after a short illness. Eileen was active on local issues and a Borough councillor right up to her recent illness.
She was known and respected as someone who would stand up for Silverdale people. As a founder member of the steering committee,she set up to create the current Parish Council, galvanising local support. She will be remembered for her involvement at Silverdale Heritage Park and the transfer of Acre and Park Allotments from the Borough Council to a management committee.
She had been a school governor at Silverdale Academy and served as a Borough councillor on the Planning Committee
